What material is best quilting fabric?
Everyone needs take rest. the bed sheet touches human body closely, it's quality and condition affact people's sleeping. there are 3 different common bed sheet fabric available in the market, which is plain, twill, satin and jacquard fabric, so which is the best one? we will explain their characteristics as below:
plain weave woven bed sheet
Plain weave woven is the most basic of three fundamental types of textiles weaves. the warp and weft are aligned so they form a simple criss-cross patterns. plain weave woven fabric has lots of criss-corss points, it make fabric strong, resist scratches and looks same, even and flat on the surface of the front and the back. The density may be a bit lower to be high breathable. it is commonly use in apparel like pants, shirts, outer top and bed linen.
Jacquard weave woven fabric
Jacquard is a raised design or pattern woven into a fabric as opposed to being printed on the fabric. such as demasks, florals and geometrics. Jacquard weaves have a varying drape ability and durability depending on which fiber are used. it is always woven in high density with combed yarn and have a good selling in the market thanks to it's soft hand feel, bright color fastness and high level. jacquard fabric is commonly used for table cloth, curtain fabric and bed sheet.
Twill weave woven fabric
Twill fabric technically have a front and a back side, unlike plain weave, whose two sides are the same. each weft or filling yarn floating across the warp yarns in a profression of interlacings to the right or left, forminga distinct diaomal line. this diaonal line is also know as wale. A float is the portion of a yarn that crosses over two or more yarns from the opposite directions. it is in high density and feels thick and soft. which is also commonly used in workwear cloting, school uniform, sports wear and bed sheet linen.
Satin weave woven fabric
Satin weave is a weave that typically has a glossy surface and dull back. the satic seave is characterized by four or more cool fill or weft yarns floating over a warp yarn or vice versa, four warp yarns floaing over a single weft yarn. floats are missed interfacings, where the warp yarn lies on top of the weft in a warp-faced satin and where the weft yarn lies on top of the warp yarns in weft-faced satins. satin fabric tends to have a high lusters due to the high numbers of floats on the fabric. it is in high cost due to high density and thickness. satin is commonly used in apparel like baseball jacket, athletic shorts, night gowns, blouse, box shorts, but also in interior furnishing fabric, upholstery and bed sheets.
